Hi Mom --
G. Bayne here... nice to meet you...

Here I am >>>>>>
This is a picture of me, on a plane to Naples, FLA where I had an epiphany about what I was going to do in my next season of life. I was so excited, I knew I had to take a picture to document the moment.

How it all began...
Up until this point in I life, I was loving being a side-hustle-at-home-mom (is that a thing),

  • having dinner every night with my family,

  • being present for every one of my kiddos milestone moments,

  • never missing my kids games,

  • being the TEAM MOM,

  • not having the expense of day care, and

I ABSOLUTELY. LOVED. HOMESCHOOLING.

I deemed myself "unhirable" because I really couldn’t commit to the 9-5 with 2 weeks PTO. I just couldn’t figure out how to make it work…

I'm excited to share the story behind Moms Doing Business and how it came to be.

The Dream...

I started to ask around and found out there were a lot of other moms… younger moms… older moms… new moms with little babies… moms who were "nearing the finish line" and sending kiddos off to college… married moms... single moms... and even, Moms who were now GMOMs loving on their grandbabies... all these moms felt the same way...

They longed to

  • Rediscover their passions

  • Achieve Work/life balance, and

  • Pursue Financial Freedom

All of which would be gained through starting their own business!

So, I started to reach out... I posted on my social account... talked to friends... talked to strangers... oddly met a lot of people at our local copy store.

I was on a mission...
I set out with a mission to empower all the 'unhirable' moms out there who have the drive to pursue their business dreams while maintaining the flexibility to

  • volunteer,

  • help a neighbor,

  • be there for her spouse or her kids,

  • have family dinner every night,

  • travel,

  • or maybe even homeschool

The idea for my new business MOMS DOING BUSINESS wasn’t created that day on the airplane. What I didn't realize is that it was painstakingly developed and molded over years and years of trial and error. I’ll share a little backstory…

Way back when, I started homeschooling my boys. What many probably didn’t know was that shortly thereafter I did so while coaching other moms on how to open their own homeschool tutoring program.

At one point I was coaching 30 leaders directly and about 200 indirectly. (You might even be one of those awesome ladies).

I was doing my part to contribute to the raising of a multi-million dollar organization with an amazing mission while also raising & schooling my boys. It wasn’t easy…

But I learned how to work around my homeschool schedule. I learned to automate, how to organize my work and I developed systems.

Using my many years of working in internet development & digital marketing, I found ways to make tech work to my advantage and the Internet work for me when I couldn’t.

I developed strategies and coached my moms on how to create their own strategy.

Someone in my family recently gave a name to this ability to make things happen… she called me “resourceful.”

Using my “resourcefulness” I documented everything I learned about coaching and systems and tied it to all I knew about doing business online. This is what I was putting into a program where I could show other MOMS how to as well, just like in my old days of showing MOMs how to start their own homeschool business.

The Plan...

But the real "aha" moment for me was what the marketers call a "Serendipitous Advantage" in layman's terms that is an unexpected benefit. What I found in my coaching was that a community developed around me.

This community was amazing because it was a way for MOMs to learn from each other. And it lasted long after the instruction was over. It was an awesome opportunity to connect and collaborate on everything... besides oodles of information on how to run a profitable small business and best uses of tech, MOMs connected on many levels from time hacks to recipes to parenting advice. And, so, MOMS DOING BUSINESS, the Community for Mompreneurs was born.

Unexpected
Benefit...
